The CGT UberEats/Deliveroo section in Lyon was formed in the spring of 2019 from the CGT Committee of Precarious Workers, with the aim of federating the workers of the delivery platforms and collectively establishing their claims. Based on democratic practices, the section aims to defend the rights of platform workers and to reach new ones, thus opposing the practices of UberEats, Deliveroo and others, which attack workers' rights and social protection. Numerous mobilisations have been organized since 2019, including several strikes against the drop in pay in March 2020, as well as a whole campaign of calls for stopping work and demanding compensation for delivery workers during the Coronavirus crisis. The section works in conjunction with other CGT organisations, including the numerous delivery workers' unions.
