| The Riders Collective was launched by ÖGB with the aim of improving working conditions in the platform economy, particularly in the food delivery sector. The Riders Collective works as a contact point between the union – ÖGB - and riders; it also aims at being these riders’ voice towards the general public. Contacts with riders, a typically heterogeneous target, are facilitated by the fact that several members of the collective are riders themselves. The Riders Collective also supports riders by providing them with information on a series of topics of interest, including workers’ rights, funded educational opportunities and taxation. It also provides spaces and opportunities for the riders to meet and exchange on common challenges and difficulties. |
