| The Riders Collective was launched by the ÖGB (Austrian Trade Union Federation) to improve working conditions in the platform economy, particularly in the food delivery sector. The Riders Collective acts as a point of contact between the trade union and delivery riders, and also aims to be their voice to the general public. Reaching out to the diverse group of riders is made easier by the fact that several members of the collective are themselves riders. The Riders Collective also supports riders by providing information on a range of topics of interest, such as workers’ rights, the availability of free training courses, and taxation. The collective also provides meeting spaces and opportunities for riders to connect and discuss common challenges and difficulties. |
